SORGHUM

Sorghum is a tall, hardy crop that grows well in drought-like conditions. It is known as a high energy crop for its efficient ability to convert solar energy and use water. Sorghum can grow up to 20 ft tall and produces colorful flower clusters at its tips called panicles. Sorghum is well loved for its  diverse culinary uses. Sorghum can be consumed as a sweet syrup, a gluten-free grain or even popped like popcorn! In the United States, Kansas is the leading region for sorghum production.
